KwaZulu Natal
From the peaks of the Drakensberg mountain range in the Midlands to the lush, sub-tropical forests and sandy beaches to the north and south coast, the KwaZulu Natal border echoes with the history of clashes between Zulus, Boers and British over land ownership and wealth. Throughout the province, locations of historic and cultural interest remain, where conflicts and battles were won and lost.
Today, the province offers the visitor a holiday mecca, which includes exceptional fishing and boating, walking and hiking in the Drakensburg, and a visit to the battlefields of the Anglo Zulu wars, including Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift. Furthermore, it has some of the best game viewing in the country at the exclusive game reserves of Umfolozi and Hluhluwe, St Lucia and Mkuzi.
