Mahé, The Seychelles
Mahé is the largest of the Seychelles archipelago with a landscape varying from the peak of the Morne Seychellois to 75 peaceful, idyllic beaches. Its capital, Victoria is a small but busy city, with a thriving market six days a week, selling local crafts, fish, fruit and vegetables exuding laid-back charm.
Forming the backbone of the island is a spectacular mountain range that includes the island's highest peak, Morne Seychellois. Around the peak is Morne Seychellois National Park, one of the island's beautiful national parks, offering good hiking and stunning scenery. The Seychelles spectacular beaches are fringed with swaying palm trees and can be found along the shoreline, offering a host of activities for the more adventurous traveller, from excellent dive centres to various water sports.
