Skeleton Coast Camp

Skeleton Coast Camp Skeleton Coast Camp interior

Skeleton Coast Camp is located in Namibia's Skeleton Coast National Park, one of Africa’s most beautiful places. The camp is built on an island in the dry Khumib riverbed, about twenty kilometres inland from the coastline. The area is wild, desolate, uninhabited and stunningly beautiful and offers the perfect safari experience for those who want to really get away from it all. The terrain is rugged and harsh, therefore the camp is best suited for the African traveller looking for a true wilderness experience, in some of the most spectacular scenery in southern Africa.

The camp itself has six luxury Meru style tents set in the heart of Skeleton Coast Park. Each of the tents is large, roomy and has an en suite bathroom. The main facilities at the camp include A central lounge and dining area offering sweeping views of the surrounding arid desert.  There is also the option to dine in the camps open air dining room, sheltered by the wonderful old gnarled Leadwood tree.

Due to the complete isolation offered from the camp it allows a vast array of exploration based activities. Most are done in the camps 4x4 vehicles allowing a closer interaction with the natural surroundings through full day game drives. There are also plenty of opportunities to take part in walking safaris. Other excursions can also arranged including visits to the clay castles of the Hoarusib River, Rocky Point, the roaring dunes, lichen fields, seal colonies, Himba villages and the shipwreck sites along the immense shoreline.
