Okahiringo Elephant Lodge
Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is situated in the Kaokoland, the only place in the world where the elephants, black rhinos, giraffes and lions live in a desert area. Often described as one of the last truly wild areas in the North West of Namibia it features beautiful mountain landscapes and rugged tranquility
Okahiringo Elephant Lodge comprises of seven luxury double cottages. The cottages elegantly decorated in a rich and sensuous fusion of ochre, honey and sand colours, each one has its own unique style and atmosphere, the ethnic and local sculptured furnishing bring the excitement and romance of Africa, to life. Each of the cottages has a private en suite large bathroom with bath tub overlooking the magnificent surroundings, two basins, a choice of indoor or open air shower, and a spacious private gazebo with a sun bed, where to relax after an intense desert safari day. There is also a presidential suite with two double bedrooms, external verandas and gazeboes and a private lounge, for those who enjoy absolute privacy. The main facilities at the lodge include a beautiful lounge area with restaurant and bar and a swimming pool which has panoramic views of the desert area that surrounds the lodge.
Activities available from the lodge include morning, afternoon and night game/nature drives and sunrise and sunset drives. Due to the location there are also brilliant bird watching opportunities and hiking trails in and around the Hoarusib Valley and surrounding mountains. Additional Highlights of staying at the Okahirongo Elephant Lodge include the opportunity to track the rare desert-adapted elephants or visiting a nearby Himba village and learn about their fascinating way of life.
