Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp
Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp is situated twenty kilometres from Sesriem, the Park's entrance to the Sossusvlei dunes. Huge towering dunes rise dramatically, more than 1000 feet above the surrounding plains at Sossusvlei. The camp's location provides easy access to Sossusvlei, yet also offers privacy and exclusivity. It has been built just below the top of a mountain, using rock, brick, timber and thatch and provides a cool refuge from the desert.
Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp only has nine bungalows, ensuring personal service and attention. Each of the bungalows is superbly furnished and appointed and have private en suite bathrooms which offer panoramic views overlooking the plains below, and have both hot and cold running water, showers and flush toilets. In addition, each of the bungalows also has its own small plunge pool, perfect for relaxing in after a long day’s game drive. The main facilities are under thatch and consist of a small lounge area and a swimming pool.
Activities from Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp centre round early morning excursions in 4x4 vehicles to the magnificent Sossusvlei dunes and the "vlei" itself. Wonderful desert breakfasts are served under camel-thorn acacias surrounded by the dunes. Afternoon activities are enjoyed on the property; guests can spend time taking in the desert scenery and its unique flora and fauna.
