Mowani Mountain Lodge
Mowani Mountain Lodge is hidden on a high spot amongst boulders, commanding royal views over the ancient and rugged landscape of the Aba-Huab valley. The camp has been carefully designed to create the impression of an African village. This lodge itself is considered to be one of the finest in the Damaraland region of Namibia, and it lies in a vast and unspoilt wilderness, between the Ugab and Huab Rivers. The lodge offers astounding desert scenery, fascinating geological formations and archaeological sites, and an incomparable variety of desert flora and fauna.
Accomodation at the lodge is in twelve beautifully decorated east African style tents. Each tent has an en suite bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet and a private dining and sitting room which blend in perfectly with the surrounding boulders. In addition, Mowani Mountain Lodge also offers accommodation in a luxury suite, built high upon a rocky outcrop, with spectacular views. The thatched suite comes complete with butler service and is tastefully furnished with a distinct African flavour. The main lodge area consists of dome-like thatched structures offering a restaurant, bar, dining room and private lounge area which all overlook the local watering hole.
Activities at Mowani include daytime guided nature drives to find mountain zebra, kudu, springbok and the adaptable desert elephant. Other nearby attractions include one of the richest collections of African Rock Art at Twyfelfontein, the Petrified forests, the Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain.
