Guludo Beach Lodge

Guludo Beach Lodge Banda Guludo room

Guludo Beach Lodge is located in the Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique where the bush meets the beach and where elephants can be seen to be feeding off the mangrove trees just metres from the ocean. The lodge’s main focus is to provide simple rustic accomodation within a beautiful surrounding whilst also giving as much back to the local communities as possible. The Lodge is well known for its community support, the bandas are all built with local materials and using local workers. It is because of this that Guludo is considered to be a very unique place.

Guludo Beach Lodge offers four types of accommodation, the Adobe Bandas, Tented Bandas, Family Banda and Zala Suite. The bandas are as environmentally-sound and combine traditional materials with modern technology and design to negate the need for air-conditioning. The high roves allow the sea breeze to flow freely. Each banda has an en suite bathroom, the water is solar-heated, and the showerheads are made from coconuts! The environmental toilets are in their own reed hut, and are raised high to allow them the most spectacular view. The Bandas have been very carefully designed allowing the opportunity to watch the sun spectacularly rise over the neighbouring Rolas Island through from the comfort the extravagant king sized beds. Each of the bandas has its own private verandah which faces the beach and has a Swahali-style seat, a hammock and sun loungers.

There are a numerous amount of activities available from Guludo, ranging from diving, snorkeling, fishing to simply just relaxing and taking in the magical surroundings and the 12 kilometres of pure white sandy beaches. Of course the Lodge itself also recommends a visit to the local village and the community. Guldo operates several education programmes and community projects in the village. When staying at Guludo Beach Lodge the opportunity to assist on community and conservation projects is also available.
