West Coast
The impressive mountain outcrops that rise up along the otherwise flat landscape along the western coast of Mauritius are home to one of the fastest-growing regions for tourism in the country. The Flic en Flac beach is one of the popular beaches in western Mauritius, indeed in the whole of the country, hence it is hardly surprising that most of the hotels and beachside resorts are located here including The Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa. The hotels can arrange for sightseeing trips and adventurous water sport activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving or deep-sea fishing. Alternatively, they make the perfect place for complete relaxation and rejuvenation in wonderful surroundings. The beautiful façade of the west Mauritius hotels seem to blend perfectly with their splendid natural environs.
However, there is more to the west coast than just Flic en Flac. Along the astonishing Le Morne Peninsula at the island’s south-western tip they are some amazing beaches offering as much if not more than Flic en Flac. The region is well known for its vast array of water-sports, the diving along this coast is also second to nine and there is even a small surfing scene in Tamarin and Grande Rivière Noire is a centre for big-game fishing and dolphin watching.
