Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort, South Coast, Mauritius
Located on the southern west tip of Mauritius and inspired by Charles Telfair, Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort has been lovingly developed on the site of one of islands' best kept and most jealously guarded secrets, the former sugar estate of Bel Ombre, adjoining one the most pristine stretches of beach of the island. The countryside that surrounds Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort is both impressive and imposing. On the one side, the foothills of the Plaine Champagne Mountain descend in a sheer drop of over 500 metres, while on the other side, the sheer vastness of the Indian Ocean stretches beyond the horizon.
The resort has over one hundred and fifty rooms and suites. Each of the room is stylishly furnished and offers large twin or double beds and a private en suite bathroom, along with an array of standard modern amenities. The resort offers a rich variety of restaurants and cuisines, including a large amount of local fresh seafood and vegetables, allowing the opportunity to discover new flavours and cuisines. Leisure facilities include a fully equipped gym, three floodlit all-weather tennis courts, table tennis, and mountain bikes for those who wish to discover the surrounding coastal routes and a magnificent swimming pool.
Water sports enthusiasts have access to water-skiing, windsurfing, lasers, kayaks and pedalo boats. Discover wonderful marine life either by scuba diving or snorkelling or on a glass bottom boat excursion. For nature lovers, the huge nature park of Bel Ombre, spreading over 3,500 acres, presents a unique environment while observing the numerous birds, butterflies and deer, wild boar, even monkeys in their natural habitat. Half day excursions are available, conducted by guides specially trained by the Mauritian Wild life Foundation on quad bikes or in 4x4 vehicles.
