Relais De La Reine
The spectacular Relais De La Reine hotel is completely set into the rocks and further away from Isalo National Park entrance, in the south western region of Madagascar. The National Park offers exceptional trekking and wildlife sighting opportunities.
The Relais De La Reine hotel has thirty seven rooms and seven of the rooms are totally isolated near the horse farm. All of the rooms are beautifully furnished and offer private en suite bathrooms with toilet and shower and each bedroom also has a standing fan for the warmer Madagascan days. All the paths to the bedrooms are well laid out with some of the rooms further away from the main reception area. The main facilities at the hotel include an elegant restaurant with a huge veranda and beautifully presented food and efficient service along with a swimming pool built into the dramatic surroundings with comfortable recliners.
The hotel makes a great base for exploring The Isalo National Park which offers two great features, the Canyon of Rats and Canyon of Lemurs, both of which are well worth a visit. The big boulders make it tough going but around every corner is an undiscovered mini cave and scenery that is truly unique. Wildlife in the area includes brown lemurs, small reptiles and various insects along with some rare endemic plants including the Pachypodium. Additional activities include horse riding, swimming and treks in the Park.
