Anjajavy Hotel
Anjajavy Hotel is situated close to the flower city of Mahajanga and facing the Mozambique Channel on an exceptionally beautiful coast. Regarded as a four star hotel, it is built on a peninsula in a large bay, behind which lies a large natural reserve of 450 acres the perfect for nature loving travellers.
Anjajavy Hotel has twenty-five exquisitely decorated two storey villas. Each of the villas has a large living room, breakfast nook and a bedroom, which opens onto a large terrace that overlooks the sea. The private en suite bathroom has a bath, a shower and a separate toilet and there is also a small stairway which leads up to a cosy sitting room, all of the villas are fully air conditioned offering the added luxury for the warm Madagascan days. The main facilities at the Hotel comprises of a bar and restaurant area with an exterior and an interior dining room, a swimming pool, two beaches and a large nature reserve.
There is a variety of activities that can be organised from the hotel. Explorations of the hotels own nature reserve is very popular, offering effortless wildlife viewing. There are wonderful bird species including flocks of bright green grey-headed lovebirds, sickle-billed vangas, crested couas and vasa parrots, to name just a few. There is also a cave, tsingy-like limestone outcrops, extensive mangrove forests as well as beaches and coral reefs. The nearby marina is great for the activity orientated traveller with water sports, including water skiing, snorkelling, sailing in a catamaran, wind surfing and scuba diving. There are other options including boat excursions to the surrounding grottoes, a trip up the estuary to see mangroves, a visit to the "tsingy", guided excursions in 4-wheel drive vehicles through the nature reserve, mountain bikes and the ability to explore the reserve on foot to discover the flora and fauna of the area.
