The Coast
Miles upon miles of unspoiled white sand and palm fringed beaches, culturally rich islands and towns present yet another feature of this astonishing country. Exceptional to Eastern coast of Africa's coast are the historic and symbolic reminders of the mix of African, Arabic and European cultures. Although some of Kenya's endless sandy beaches have become increasingly popular over the last few years, our own intimate knowledge ensures we can suggest private houses, small hotels or resorts that are located in remote and idyllic locations. In the South, Msambweni House and Kinondo Kwetu are truly luxurious and secluded beaches. Heading up north past Malindi there is a unique hide away where bush truly meets the beach and you will not encounter another soul on this endless long empty beach for 60 km - Delta Dunes.
For those who want to experience a little African culture and to absorb the mix of present and past the remote and evocative and remote archipelago of Lamu, with its historical Arab influence cannot be beaten and is the very heart of Swahili culture. As a World Heritage site this island has retained all of its character and charm without being ruined by too many visitors and there are still no roads or cars on the island and it boasts the world's last truly deserted tropical beaches and also features an abundant wildlife.
