Campi Ya Kanzi
Campi Ya Kanzi means "Camp of the hidden treasure" in Kiswahili and it is truly that. Campi Ya Kanzi is located on a Masai ranch that covers an area of a quarter of a million acres, with fantastic biodiversity stretching from the Chyulu Hills to the foothills of majestic Kilimanjaro. The ranch is surrounded by the Chyulus, Tsavo and Amboseli National Parks.
Accommodation at Campi Ya Kanzi is in permanent tents built on wooden platforms with thatched roofs. Each tent has an en-suite permanent bathroom as well as a wooden veranda overlooking the Tsavo Hills and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Paraffin lamps provide light in order to give the real atmosphere of the earlier grand African safari. The main facilities include Tembo house, which is made using natural materials, from the beautifully thatched roof to the interior lava rocks and timber. It houses a large lounge and library area, along with an outside veranda, perfect for spending a Kenyan evening overlooking the sunset near the local watering hole.
There are a variety of activities available from the game walks with an experienced local Masai guide, or in four wheel drive vehicles.
