Serian Camp
An exclusive wilderness camp set alongside a secluded valley flanking the Mara River close to the Siria Escarpment. The private marquee tents are set in the shade of large Oleadendra & Walburgia trees that cover the site, a tranquil setting interrupted only by the resident hippos grunting in the river.
This property is owner-run and he is passionate about the area and conservation, in addition to photography. He also encourages a longer, more varied and interesting visit to the Maasai Mara than some properties. You can pre-book some mobile camping trips in addition to his permanent camp to really get off the beaten track, and you could also choose to do a sleep out in the simple Suguroi Hill Tree House which you can walk to from camp.
Back in camp, there are seven private marquees, each unique in their own way furnished with large double beds, flanked by bedside tables and writing desks. The adjoining "bush bathrooms" include a shower, twin basin, large bush bathtub and flush toilet. Hanging swathes of cotton and canvas walls provide complete privacy.
The Mess deck and indoor fireplace leave one with the impression of having found a home from home. Enjoying an expansive view of the Mara river and the Oloololo escarpment. The deck area plays host to a great deal of wining & dining.
