Offbeat Meru Camp
Offbeat Meru camp is small, traditional and located on the edge of Meru National Park in the Bisanadi National Reserve. Immortalised by Joy Adamson in her book 'Born Free' and with only two lodges the likelihood of seeing anyone else while staying at Meru camp is small.
The camp consists of six tents, three twins and three double. Each tent is furnished with a large iron bed, its own private en suite bathroom with a traditional bucket shower and flushing loo. The main facilities include an informal dining area located in the main mess tent or around the campfire. Within the spacious 'mess' tent there are also comfortable sofas, a writing table and bar.
Activities include day and evening game drives; walking safaris with armed guides; bush breakfasts, picnics and sundowners and fly fishing in the local rivers. After an active morning in the bush there's no better feeling than coming back to Offbeat Meru camp and cooling off in the stunning infinity swimming pool watching the wildlife as it comes to drink from the Bisanadi River below you.
