Elsa's Kopje Camp
Winner of the Good Safari Guide 'Best Safari Property in Africa' 2010 and 'Best Safari Property in Eastern Africa' 2009 & 2010
Elsa's Kopje camp is a stylish wilderness retreat, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding plains and wetlands below. The camp is named after Elsa, the orphaned lioness reared by George and Joy Adamson and returned to the wild here, and on whom the film "Born Free" was based.
Accomodation at the camp consists of night naturally built stone cottages, each individually designed to incorporate the rocks into open plan architecture. Each of the luxurious cottages has a private en suite bathroom with showers or baths made out of stone, modern flush toilets, bidets and double basins along. There is also a dedicated Honeymoon cottage which has added touches of luxury. The main facilities at the camp include a dining area, offering the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing or romantic Italian influenced meal. The camp also has a stunning swimming pool, the perfect place to spend a warm Kenyan evening.
There is a wide selection of activities to choose from when staying at Elsa's Kopje, from day and night game drives are available, to excursions to Kora National Park, rafting or fishing on the Tana River.
