Borana Ranch
Borana Ranch lies just sixteen miles from the Equator at the foot of and overlooking Mount Kenya. The Ranch is also close to the game rich Samburu and Shaba Game Reserves. The lodge has a view over the nearby dam which fills with the floodwater flowing off the surrounding hills and is the local watering hole for an assortment of resident wildlife.
Borana has eight large and private cottages each blending into the environment, the seclusion of each cottage allows the opportunity to appreciate the wilderness and isolation of this part of Africa. The cottages interior is a luxurious country style and they each have private en suite bathrooms, a fireplace and private veranda offering exceptional views over wild Kenya. The main facilities include a sitting and dining area which are tastefully decorated in comfortable up-country style. The food at the ranch is as magnificent as the setting of the Lodge.
The whole ranch is available for exploration and there are a number of ongoing activities, from tracking collared elephant and lion to visiting one of the many community conservation projects which are supported by the ranch. Horse riding, guided walks, game drives, trips to Samburu and fishing on Mount Kenya are also available.
