Tukul Village
The newest of the new lodges in Lalibela is the Tukul Lodge. Local Ethiopian homes are called Tukuls and this lodge comprises of individual, elevated round houses in the style of the local architecture with views of the surrounding mountainous countryside. As with most lodges in this part of the country the decor is minimalist and earthy, each room has its own modern bathroom and the bedroom opens out on to a panoramic balcony. The service is good and the food served in the restaurant is mainly Ethiopian so some may like to go into town for evening meals.
