Abayminch Lodge
Abayminch is a new hotel nestled in a leafy forest near the town of Bahir dar. The forty neat tukul style rooms are based on the architecture of the local homes and are well presented in creams and browns. Each room has a verandah overlooking the green gardens which offer respite from the heat. Each tukul houses two rooms and some of the houses offer interconnecting rooms for families. The beds and bedding are of good quality and the bathrooms are modern and ensuite. Continental breakfasts are served every morning and there is access to 24 hour room service and internet. The lodge also offers a laundry service. Many bird species are attracted to the wonderful green gardens with a variety of different types of trees. Although this hotel is not directly on the lake shore of Lake Tana, it definitely offers a good alternative when staying in Bahir dar and is one of the new age hotels opening in Ethiopia which offer a more comfortable stay with a modern feel.
