Xakanaxa Camp (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) is one of the pioneer safari camps in Botswana's Okavango Delta, providing an authentic and informal Delta experience.
What sets this camp apart is undoubtedly its fabulous staff and superb game viewing; it is a firm favourite of ours. Lettie, the charming General Manager, has worked for Xakanaxa for 25 years and is a delightful and gracious hostess.
The camp is set on the banks of the Khwai River in the heart of The Moremi Game Reserve and consists of 12 Meru-style classic luxury safari tents on raised decks with en-suite facilities. The main area comprises a thatched, elevated lounge, dining room, viewing deck and bar area and the small manicured garden is great for bird watching. There is also a small plunge pool. The evening campfire on deck has stunning views over the river and is the perfect place to unwind after a full day's activities.
Game drives are conducted in open Land Rovers and water activities on offer include mokoro excursions and power boat trips.
