San Camp

San Camp
  • One of the most romantic camps in Africa
  • Mesmerising views of the serene and endless Makgadikgadi salt pans
  • Interact with meerkats and walk with bushmen trackers

San Camp is situated right on the edge of one of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. The remnants of an enormous extinct super lake that used to cover most of southern Africa, the Makgadikgadi Pans are in the middle of the Kalahari Desert which extends across 80% of Botswana.

Classic white tents stand majestically on the edge of the endless salt pans of the Makgadikgadi - each sheltered by a cluster of stately desert palms. It is the nothingness that attracts - spectacular vistas, creative surprises, expert guiding, habituated meerkats, unique desert species, old-world safari styling and superb cuisine all culminate to create an experience that is completely different to any other.

Pared down safari elegance with minimal ecological impact, San Camp is perfect for those looking for an authentic safari experience.

At the height of the dry season, San Camp is one of the most remote desert camps in Africa and is therefore only open from 16th April to 30th November.
