Kwando Tau Pan

Kwando Tau Pan Main Deck
  • The Central Kalahari: a magical and mystical place
  • Wildlife in abundance and a vast, open expanse of wilderness
  • Bushmen trackers share their stories and show you a fascinating way of life
  • An ecologically sensitive camp run on solar power
  • Star gazing and nature walks make for a complete wilderness experience

One of only two camps in the magnificent Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Tau Pan is built to maximise the views over the vast, never-ending plains.

The eight roomed camp is crescent-shaped, with an open and airy feel. Accommodation is provided in nine light and spacious thatched units on decks, and the lodge overlooks a permanent watering hole.

What we love about this place is its size and grandeur. It is perfectly positioned to take in the vast and sheer expanse that is the Makgadigadi Salt Pans. Whether you are lying in bed or on the main deck of the lodge, the views are simply breathtaking.

Our top tip when visiting Kwando Tau Pan is to scan the waterhole first thing in the morning as it is often frequented by the legendary Kalahari black-maned lions!
