Botswana Family Holiday

Selinda Camp walking safari, chobe, botswana

Botswana offers families some truly fantastic game viewing, while staying in luxurious accommodation where in-house activities provide numerous distractions to keep your little ones amused! Most Botswana safaris end or start at the Victoria Falls with its staggering views and the abundance of cultural and thrill seeking activities on offer in the surrounding area.

The Young Explorer program has been especially designed to offer the whole family to enjoy exclusive use of a private six bed camp, one in the Kalahari and one in the Okavango Delta. Fully staffed and escorted you can walk with the San Bushman trackers tracking white rhino on foot as well as joining the women and children of the village in gathering edible roots and plants, learn how to make small animal traps and how to start a fire from nothing more than two sticks. The children learn how to recognize different animal spoor as well as bird identification. They'll also try their hand at poling a mokoro, driving a game drive vehicle, fishing and shooting an air rifle at tin cans.

Cost from £2770 per person for a family of six people for 7 days, including everything you can possibly wish for except international flights.

The above itinerary is more suited to older children but we can suggest many other family friendly camps for younger children in Botswana. At Lebala and Kwara Camps children get involved in special fun-filled activities and child supervision is on offer.
