The African department at Steppes Travel have over 43 years of hands on African Experience. Between us we have run safari lodges, been safari guides and worked on conservation projects throughout Africa. As such we are all truly passionate about Africa and have spent our career specialising in tailor making holidays to Africa. Through working at Steppes we have been afforded the opportunity to travel more extensively throughout Africa and as such have firsthand experience of almost all of the safari’s and lodges we offer.
We can help plan your Holiday to Africa at any time of year, but we thought we would outline some of our favourite destinations during the year.
In January come with us to Northern Sudan and visit the land of the Black Phaoroas. Zebra and wildebeest migrate in February onto the grass plains of the Serengeti to calve. Experience a dhow safari in the Quirimbas Archipelago in Mozambique during March.
Spring is a great time to discover the Green desert of Botswana as another great migration takes place, or why not visit the seal colonies on the Skeleton Coast on a holiday to Namibia.
A holiday to Zimbabwe boasts some of the world’s best safari guides and wildlife and June is a wonderful time of year to visit, whilst summer offers the opportunity to walk amongst the lions with the experts in the Luangwa Valley in Zambia. During August watch the great wildebeest migration cross the river in Kenya.
An autumn holiday to the Omo Valley in Ethiopia can include joining in with the chanting crowds at a bull jumping ceremony, or you can see eye to eye with a Gorilla in Uganda.
If you want to escape the for the winter, you may want to set sail around the oceans surrounding Mauritius, Madagascar and the Seychelles, or ride a bicycle through the wine lands in the Cape, South Africa.
