Deception Valley Lodge is located approximately 40 kilometres from the Deception Pans in the Kalahari Desert. The Lodge accommodates 10 guests in private units, each with a lounge, a Victorian style bathroom with an outside shower and a deck where you can gaze at the vastness of the Kalahari bush. Each unit stands separately on stilts and is connected to the main lodge by wooden walkways.
Deception Valley Lodge is a cultural destination where direct interaction, through an interpreter, is undertaken with San Bushmen who will explain first hand their traditions, hunting tools, natural medicines and history. Deception Valley Lodge also includes a swimming pool situated near to the main complex as well as a boma for nighttime meals. You can view the activities at the watering hole from the deck, allowing you to feel a part of the bush.
Other activities include game drives and game walks with experienced guides. The wildlife to be experienced in the area includes gemsbok, kudu and springbok to cheetah, leopard, and hyena. Bird life is prolific, with this region alone having over 900 species.
