Danforth Yachting offers a brand new and exciting opportunity to experience Malawi's Lake of Stars, situated at Cape Maclear bordering on the Lake Malawi National Park. Surrounded by islands, this is one of the most beautiful locations on this magnificent lake. Danforth is both a yacht charter company and a luxury lodge, focusing on sailing and water sports. The Lodge has four spacious, en-suite family rooms, all opening onto a large patio. All rooms have spectacular views of the lake and look out over Thumbi West Island. The garden has shady lawns, leading to a clean beach and crystal clear water. The beach is just a stones throw away, and moored 50 metres away is the luxury yacht "Mufasa". PADI scuba diving centre, water sports and activities are all on site and easily accessible to the resident guests. Danforth Yachting operates on a full board basis. The local and international chefs take pride in presenting a tempting selection of dishes, using the freshest of ingredients. Dining is al-fresco in a family setting. Children are most welcome. Early meals and child friendly menus can be arranged. Patient and encouraging water sports instructors give expert tuition for waterskiing, wakeboarding, snorkelling and sailing, and a variety of activities including fishing, mountain biking, guided nature walks, table tennis, trampoline and cultural outings to the traditional village are available at the lodge.
Mufasa is a fully equipped and crewed ocean going catamaran, which sleeps eight guests in comfort and style. The layout includes two bathrooms, four double cabins, 2 crew berths, saloon, galley, cockpit under shade bimini and a dive platform. Mufusa is the only ocean going, live aboard yacht on Lake Malawi. On offer are specific sailing packages from sunset cruises to full tours of Lake Malawi. Each sailing safari can be tailored to suit individual preferences. Scuba diving equipment is kept on board.
