The Convento do Carmo, opened in October 2005, after a total renovation that took more than 5 years. The Convento do Carmo has 79 beautifully furnished rooms, including 11 suites all equipped with modern facilities and en suite bathrooms. In its former days it was a convent dating back to the sixteenth century. Situated in the heart of the historical centre of Salvador, the Pelourinho district, whose centre has UNESCO heritage status, the hotel is in a unique location.
The rooms of the Convento do Carmo have a romantic atmosphere each varying in size and style. The decoration is simple and comfortable, keeping in context with the origins of the building while creating a homely feel. There is a restaurant, which serves international food, spa and a swimming pool.
