Below is an account of a recent trip to Madagascar taken by Beth and Ben.


Dear Illona,

Beth & I thought that we should write to you in person to thank you for organising such a wonderful honeymoon for us. From the very start your assistance in organising our trip was invaluable as was your knowledge of our destination. I'm sure we weren't the easiest couple to please considering we asked a lot on a relatively small budget, but the itinerary you created for us suited our requirements down to the ground and the level of care you showed us made us feel as if we were your only clients.



The pre-trip information pack you sent out came in very helpful and enabled us to travel in a more assured fashion and to feel as if we weren't visiting a country (blind) but that we had some background knowledge and were even able to throw a few Malagasy words around much to the amusement of our driver Njiva from ZTours.

Whilst on the subject of Njiva, Beth & I feel we can't let his contribution to our trip pass by unmentioned. To begin with we were rather surprised to find that he was to accompany us for our entire time in Perinet but we soon found him to be a friendly, considerate and highly informed guide. At first the idea of being chauffer-driven through Madagascar in a luxurious 4x4 didn't sit too well with Beth & I as we prefer to interact with people and see more of the places we travel to but Njiva was only too happy to indulge our requests and take us off to local Malagasy places to eat to sample Madagascan food and to drive us to near-by villages and walk with us talking us through local customs and chatting with us about how the Madagascan people live. He really was a highlight on our trip and we relished the opportunity to meet the local people and try the food (mostly Zebu).




We're also glad to see that you use a Madagascan run company given that so many tour companies (and businesses in general) over there seem to be French-run.

So thanks once again Illona for organising us a fantastic honeymoon. It was something we'd been looking forward to for a while and it really didn't disappoint. We've attached a few images for you too.
