Hacienda Hotel Vira Vira is on 23 hectares of native park along the Liucura River, close to Pucon in the Chilean Lake District. More than just a hotel, a complete working organic farm, providing personal high end service and an insight into the workings of a modern farm and cheese dairy.
Rooms are homely, spacious and individually decorated, suites have terraces and views of the surrounding scenery, villa suites also have an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the river.
Fresh produce from the farm is served in the restaurant or at the riverside BBQ area. The area offers the best in adventure with horse riding, hiking, rafting, kayaking, sailing and fly fishing. Indoor activities include cheese making, yoga, wine tasting and delicious meals.
Hacienda Hotel Vira Vira is located 11 miles north of Pucon, a small town with a variety of adventure activities on offer in the Chilean Lake district. To get to the hacienda fly to Temuco and then drive a very scenic one hour 20 minutes. If coming from the south of Chile, fly into Puerto Montt and the drive is then four hours. Hacienda Hotel Vira Vira is surrounded by lakes, volcanoes and beautiful scenery.

Activities on offer are endless. Choose from horse riding or hiking in Villarrica National Park, Huerquehue National Park, El Cani Sanctuary as well as other remote natural sanctuaries. Explore the volcanoes, lakes and glaciers in this area. It is possible to climb Villarrica volcano, a cone shape volcano with boiling lava on top, an exciting walk with stunning views from the top. This area has some of the best fishing in the country, depending on the season, salmon, brown and rainbow trout can be found. Sailing and kayaking is another possibility on one of the many lakes and rivers, and for more adventurous white water rafting on grade II to IV rapids is available. Mountain biking is on offer, a great way to explore the area. During winter months try dog sledding, snowshoeing, snowboarding and skiing.
As well as exploring the area there is plenty to do on the hacienda itself. Spend a day on the farm learning about harvesting, the animal breeding programme or visit the cheese dairy and make your own yogurt, butter or cheese. There is also a traditional Mapuche ruca (a round wooden building) for meditation and yoga.
