At Steppes Travel, we are firm believers that travellers and tour operators should 'put something back' into the communities they visit.
Below are just a few of the projects Steppes Travel currently support.

As part of our on-going support for conservation we make all our clients travelling to Africa a member of Tusk Trust for one year.
Tusk Trust is the highly respected wildlife charity founded in 1990, which has successfully initiated, funded, and operated a number of important conservation projects across Africa. Tusk and its US affiliate Tusk USA Inc actively support the protection of endangered species, such as the Rhino, Elephant, Wild Dog and Chimpanzees, it also recognises that education, sustainable rural development, and support from local communities are also essential ingredients for the success of long-term conservation and the uplifting of poor Africans in the countryside.

We as tour operators are often asked "What can I take to Africa?"
Footballs for Fun is an idea that came from the fact that the World Football Cup will be held in South Africa in 2010 and that everyone in Africa loves to play football! The organisation produces Fairtrade, flat-packed footballs with a pump and encourages visitors to give them away to local children to replace their homemade football made from plastic bags and string. It enables travellers to interact more closely with the local people and give something back to Africa. The profits raised by the charity will be donated to charities in Africa that deal with malaria, TB, polio, HIV/ AIDS and clean drinking water.
