Casa Rua Geralda, Paraty

Located on a cobblestone street, the Casa Rua Geralda has immediate access to all the shops, bars and restaurants of Paraty and is only a few steps away from the harbour and fish market. Equidistant from Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, this spectacularly well preserved colonial town is now a UNESCO World Heritage site and is entirely closed to traffic.

The villa's walled in garden with circular swimming pool make for a very secluded area, also ideal for candlelit dinners cooked on the outside grill, which can easily be followed by evenings out on the town. This historical merchant's house has recently been completely renovated. The quality of its accommodation is now better than in most pousadas, whilst its bedrooms are surely the most luxurious in Paraty. The villa also has its own schooner for daily excursions to the hundreds of islands and beaches that make up this gorgeous Brazilian bay.

The villa is approximately a three hour and thirty minute drive from Sao Paulo or 40 minutes by helicopter.
