Day 1Depart London for your overnight flight to Johannesburg.
Day 2Take your onward internal flight to Maun and to
Seba Camp in the
Okavango Delta.
Day 3Set in an ancient riverine forest
Seba Camp's luxurious tented accommodation (where special two bedroom family rooms are available) overlooks a lagoon teeming with animal and bird life. As well as the giraffe, zebra, impala, wildebeest, tsessebe and lechwe on view, the camp is also a base for unique research on elephant behaviour and boasts a large elephant population. An exceptionally large pride of lions has also taken up residence nearby and their thrilling calls can be heard in the evenings! For bird enthusiasts, some 380 different species are found in the region.
A swimming pool is available for guests to enjoy during the hotter months.
Day 4Fly to
Chitabe Trails a comfortable five-roomed tented camp in an enormous concession, bordered on three sides by the
Moremi Game Reserve. Once again two bedroom family rooms are available.
Day 5A full day to enjoy Chitabe Trails. The area is surrounded by waterways and lagoons and a wide variety of wildlife can be seen. Experience game walks and day and night game drives where buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, reedbuck, lechwe, impala, zebra and hippo are among the major game attractions.
Day 6Fly to Kasane and drive to
Livingstone and the
River Club. Situated 18km upstream from Victoria Falls on the Zambian side of the
Zambezi River, the River Club offers ten luxurious, thatched chalets (including two bedroom family accommodation) overlooking the Zambezi River.
Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is arguably the greatest waterfall in the world. Daily trips to the Falls are a highlight while pontoon trips to the Zambezi River's islands provide relaxed afternoon activities. The
Zambezi National Park is nearby and hippos are regularly sighted along the river's edge and lion calls often heard at night!
Day 7A full day to enjoy the River Club and the surrounding area.
Day 8This afternoon you will fly from Livingstone to Johannesburg before taking your overnight flight to Heathrow.
The cost of the above is from £3,299 per adult and from £2,995 per child. This cost includes your international and internal flights, transfers and accommodation as mentioned.
The above itinerary is more suited to older children but we can suggest many other family friendly camps for younger children in
Botswana. At
Lebala and
Kwara Camps children get involved in special fun-filled activities and child supervision is on offer.
Alternatively, families can have exclusive use of the intimate six bedded
Footsteps Camp in the Delta or the eight bedded
Edo's Camp in the
Kalahari giving them the opportunity to discover the wonders of the African wilderness together.
