Combine two elegant lodges, each located in starkly different environments. Begin with Sandibe and the Okavango Delta’s wetland landscapes, before flying by helicopter to Feline Fields, a beautiful retreat in the heart of the arid Kalahari.
- Stay at two beautiful lodges in contrasting landscapes
- Discover the diversity of the delta, with its abundance of wildlife
- Meet the Bushmen of the Kalahari – the original inhabitants of this great desert
- Fly over the delta and into the Kalahari by private helicopter
Begin in the Okavango Delta, staying at Sandibe Lodge. Very different from the more traditional tented camps, this pangolin-inspired lodge stands out for its remarkable architectural designs. Spacious and comfortable, it features dramatic wooden arches that curve upwards, supporting a shell-like roof.
With service to match the inspired design, Sandibe provides a wonderful place to relax at the heart of Botswana’s greatest wetland wilderness. However, morning and late afternoons are inevitably spent away from camp, in search of the Okavango’s incredible wildlife.
Explore in total seclusion, in a private concession that is rich with wildlife. Encounter prides of lions stalking antelopes, watch elephants bathing in rich mud and spot kingfishers as they flit low across the waterways.
After several days, leave the watery landscapes of the delta behind, flying by private helicopter across some of its most dramatic terrain. Watch as the greens give way to browns, as the Kalahari reclaims the verdant floodplains.
Deep in the western Kalahari, on private land, Feline Fields looks out over the dry bush. Here, stay in a beautiful two-storey suite, with views across the desert landscape. Owner-run and aimed at total escape, this beautifully isolated lodge is completely immersed in the Kalahari.
Venture out on foot or by vehicle, exploring the desert. Wildlife is relatively scarce, but species that thrive here are specially adapted to the harsh conditions. Also explore by fatbike – ideal for the sandy terrain – with two of these provided with each suite.
The highlight of any stay at Feline Fields is time spent with the local Bushmen. These hunter gatherer people were the original inhabitants of the Kalahari and their culture survives, relatively intact, in the modern era. Visit for an afternoon and learn about their way of life, or spend a night fly camping beside a Bushmen settlement.
