The capital city Bogota boasts grand colonial churches, impressive museums, futuristic architecture and a vibrant cultural scene. To the east the city is bordered by a mountain range topped by the peaks of Guadelupe and Monserrate, which can be reached by cable car or funicular and have magnificent views. Just north of the capital is the underground salt cathedral of Zipaquira. This immense structure, carved out of solid salt, can accommodate over 8,000 people.
