It is the perfect starting point to begin a journey along the Garden Route or as an extension from the winelands. Explore the local area, which consists of 20 nature reserves and botanical gardens, 16 museums, championship golf courses and 24 beaches.
A wide range of water sports ranging from deep sea fishing, fly fishing, sea kayaking, white shark diving, sailing and scuba diving and some of the best boat based whale watching in the world at nearby Hermanus. Take a sunset cruise down the Stanford River, explore the sea cliff walks around Walker Bay or go on mountain guided walks, bike rides or horse rides to discover the local flora and fauna.
Blue Gum Country Estate consists of ten rooms in total. Five "mountain facing suites", decorated in English country style, each with a fireplace, armchairs and private patio and five colonial African style suites situated in the Manor House. Each has its own private veranda, overlooking the valley to the Klein River Mountains.
Meals at Blue Gum Country Estate are an indulgent affair whether it is a generous country breakfast; light lunch in the gardens or at the pool or a gourmet dinner served overlooking the vineyards.
For the health conscious there is a swimming pool, tennis court and use of mountain bikes. Children over 8 are welcome.
