Scenic View, Uganda

A world away from the various primate experiences on offer, these two to three day safaris to Jinja are becoming very popular. This city offers a mix of relaxation and many sporty activities – making it ideal if you are thinking of a family holiday in Uganda.

Jinja is the second busiest commercial centre in the country, after Kampala, the capital and largest city. Jinja was established in 1907 and it was first an Italian and then an Indian industrial town well know for its luscious bougainvillea. It is now known for being the source of the Nile and the drive there has some ‘scenic’ moments when one drives by the tea and sugar plantations.

Jinja is about 87 kilometres, a 2 hour drive, from Kampala. Once there one can view the source of the Nile, the Bujagali falls and the views of the Nile from their hotel. This location also provides access to white water rafting, bunjee jumping, horse riding, quad biking and river cruises.
