Nestled amongst the picturesque Satpura hills, Bandhavgarh is one of India's most scenic national parks. The dramatic landscape features tropical forests and woodlands and steep rocky hills with flat grasslands in the valleys below. This forested area is renowned for tiger, leopard, jackal, jungle cat, wild boar, sloth bear, nilghai and sambhar. Bandhavgarh can be visited as a part of an Itinerary covering Khajuraho, Panna National Park, Kanha National Park and Jabalpur.
Taj Hotels and CC Africa have come together to introduce their first safari camps in India. Mahua Kothi (Earlier called "Churhat Kothi") is situated just a few minutes drive from the park entrance in Bandhavgarh National Park at a distance of 6-7 hrs drive from the Khajuraho Airport. The camp is situated in 24 acres of open grass and meadow land with the forest surrounding it. There are twelve charming suites or Kutiyas (jungle village huts) which have been newly built. The original Kothi (homestead) comprising the guest areas remains and has been extensively renovated, but the guest accommodation is all brand new. Whilst staying at Mahua Kothi you will discover the beautiful jungle of Bandhavgarh National Park, learn about the rich biodiversity of Central India from a CC Africa trained naturalist, travel in comfort in a specially designed Tata open 4x4 safari vehicle, view tigers whilst riding an elephant, experience safaris twice daily in the reserve and while not searching for wildlife, absorb the sights and sounds as you walk through a traditional village.
