Baines' Camp Baines' Camp

Baines Star BedBaines Camp View
The exclusive Baines' Camp is named after the intrepid 19th century explorer and artist Thomas Baines and is located close to the Boro River in the Okavango Delta. The small and intimate camp, blends seamlessly into the surrounding environment and features five luxurious suites on elevated platforms. Wooden decks have expansive views of both the river and the lagoon - and both teem with life.

The roomy suites at Baines' Camp feature four-poster beds and softly draped fabric, recalling a long-forgotten, more romantic era. The beds are mobile and afford guests the novel option of sleeping contentedly under the stars. The main guest area features a large deck for outdoor dining and a swimming pool with views of the lagoon.

Whether by land or water, guests can track an abundance of game. Evening excursions target the Delta's many nocturnal players. The year-round surrounding waters provide a myriad of waterways, a world of floating safaris. Options include the gentle pace of a poled mokoro (dugout canoe) or a motorboat with shaded canopy. Activities on offer at Baines' Camp also include bush walks with armed guides. Guest staying at Baines' Camp may also participate in the elephant interaction on offer at nearby Stanley's Camp.
