Argentina and Chile
Had I just entered an endless butterfly farm?' was my first thought upon disembarking the plane at Iguazu airport at the beginning of my trip around Argentina and Chile.
Australia
Our helicopter had no doors and with our charming but slightly crazy pilot having some fun on the way back, I landed back on the beach completely blown away and wanting to learn to fly a helicopter - just amazing.
Botswana
The mokoro is the most peaceful way to enjoy your surroundings with no noise to disturb the red lechwe hopping through the swamp and elephants moving slowly through the lilies and fantastic birding.
Brazil
It's late and I am tired, but as soon as I board the TAM flight from Heathrow to Sao Paulo, it's as if I'm there already. The atmosphere on the plane oozed 'Brazil.
Goa
This was my first visit to India. I had few expectations of such a vast and complex country, and even fewer of Goa, a place I have heard described very differently by everyone who visits it.
India
Although brimming with life, nobody appeared to be rushing. My driver continued to use his horn in the fashion of a city dweller, but nobody took the blindest notice! I knew instantly I would love it here.
Mongolia
This was trip with a difference. The main one being that I took my eleven year old son Luke with me.
Mongolia 2
The day after we arrived in Mongolia, we went on a five day Yak Trek. I thought that was a great trip even if I had to share a yurt (Mongolian tent with my Dad).
North Korea
We were allowed to attend an Olympic football qualifier. Believe it or not it was my first ever football match! I expected the scarves, shirts, shouting and support that I has seen on television, but not here.
Peru
It was an incredible feeling walking around the famed 15th century citadel perched amidst the cloud forest, a huge and perfect example of the Incan architectural ingenuity.
