Tierra del Fuego and Ushuaia

The enormous province of Tierra del Fuego is shared between Chile and Argentina and lies just beyond the Strait of Magellan, the natural ocean passage that links the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

A diverse province that features barren and windswept plains, virgin lenga forests and glaciers that descend to the ocean, Tierra del Fuego is a captivating destination that embraces its position as the southernmost landmass of South America. The windswept town of Ushuaia, which has retained its pioneering feel, is an industrial port and the gateway to Antarctica, and is commonly thought of as the southernmost city in the world.

Our specialists' 'must do'

Perhaps board a catamaran to navigate on the Beagle Channel, fish in some of the world’s finest trout rivers between November and March, or go hiking through the jarring Lapatai National Park. Alternatively, for the ultimate ocean-bound adventure, plan to join a sailing trip around the Patagonian fjords or a longer voyage to Antarctica.
