The Amazon Lodge was inaugurated in 1982 and is the pioneer for sustainable tourism development in the Brazilian Biomes of the Amazon Rainforest. Situated within the Nature Safaris Private Biological Reserve (1000 ha of untouched primary Rainforest) and protected since 1984, it is the best spot for a visit to the Rainforest around the Manaus area.

The Amazon Lodge is located only 4 hours away (80 km or 50 miles) from Manaus, on the south bank of the Amazon River, on the Parana do Mamori River system, on the Juma Lake. The Amazon Lodge is a floating island and consists of 12 twin-bedded rooms, all with bug screens, which share 3 central showers and 3 central toilets. There is a restaurant on the top floor, with excellent views and bar with veranda slung with hammocks. The Amazon Lodge maximum capacity is 30 travellers in double rooms.
