After earning a degree in Arts from Kolkata, Nima started his career in hotel management before switching to the tea industry and then the trekking industry. For 18 years he has led treks and expeditions throughout Nepal, Sikkim, Ladakh and Tibet. He was also a member of the expedition that made the first Nepali ascent of Saribung Himal in 2006.
His passion for the Himalaya goes beyond trekking and he is an active first aid responder – qualifying from the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) from Wyoming, USA. His charity worked has involved him in the Nepal earthquake response in April/May 2015. He also works as a volunteer trainer for the Annapurna Dhaulagiri Community Lodge Project, which he help found, and where profits from tourism are reinvested back into local communities.
