Steppes Travel was founded in 1989 and has now been operating for over 22 years, with a team of 35 in the office in Cirencester and another 4 people in London. As hopefully you have gleaned from the web site, we specialise in tailor made travel to all the more exotic regions of the world and in addition we sell wildlife and voyages programmes. In order to create interesting and stimulating itineraries for our clients, we demand a high level of expertise from our sales team, and anyone applying for a job should have travelled extensively in the geographical area pertaining to the vacancy.
Any applicant will be required to demonstrate a competent level of written English and, during interview, an eloquence that enables them to describe their travels in glowing and detailed terms. We are not looking for the names of places to stay, but more importantly an understanding of the culture and history of that region. Some detail of books read is always a help.

Apprentice Africa Sales Consultant
The African Department at Steppes Travel is looking to take on a committed and confident person to fufil the full time role of apprentice sales consultant. The well travelled applicant must be willing to start in the role of administration and learn the ropes from the bottom up. The successful applicant must:

Be prepared to spend at least 6 months in an administration role

Have working knowledge of computer systems

Be able to learn the industry systems quickly

Have good communication skills and have a proven ability to write web copy

Have drive and self motivation

Be willing to travel to and eventually sell holidays to Africa

Have a passion for travel and superior customer service
